Being the daughter of immigrants, she came to America with hopes of achieving the American dream. Melodie E. O. graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in International Business, minors in Italian studies and Health Administration. At the time of graduation, she had accumulated a little over $40,000 in student loans debt. After graduation, she started making minimum payment, but she wasn’t making any significant progress in paying down the loans.
During their wedding planning in 2016, she and her husband decided to get out of debt especially since they wanted to start a family, and he also had student loans of his own. They developed a strategic plan to educate themselves about getting out of debt and becoming debt-free. As of 2019, they were in the last few payments of their student loans. They have also paid off a $14,000 car loan. Since then, they have learned how to stay out of debt, start businesses, build wealth by investing in real estate, and the financial market.
While on their debt-free journey, she came across many others like herself and wanted to make a difference. She has worked with countless family members, friends, and acquaintances. She vows to help many more individuals become debt-free and educate them about personal finance. She believes that financial literacy is imperative to everyone especially minorities. She has decided to offer her program to others.
She holds multiple certificates and a license in real estate assessment. She loves God, her family, reading, real estate, investing, traveling the world, and helping others learn about personal finance.
